Damian Bridgeman had always wanted to share the story of his life and the challenges that he has faced from Cerebral Palsy. He wanted to inspire and motivate individuals with Cerebral Palsy, other disabilities and their families. To show them that CP is not a barrier and they should never give up hope of having the life they would like to have. His new book chronicles the diagnosis pathway and tackles head on Damians beliefs around such things as changing places and incontinence and why there should be provision for disabled people in society today. This book will show the trials of disability for persons with disabilities and also how it effects family members. It also covers the abuse he has experienced in his childhood and how he overcame it. You may be surprised at how many things that able-bodied people take for granted find irritating when a disabled person asks for help with these things. It will detail Damians struggle to be allowed a full education and even the permission to be able to have the career of his choice. Damian is nothing if not determined, though I would use the word formidable to describe his drive for attaining his goals. He has worked in government, Health and Social Care and been a high-ranking corporate executive, both here and in Europe, this book is a physical manifestation of his drive to achieve and represents another milestone in his career to date. Damians dyslexia made people laugh when he said he wanted to be a writer, so Damian is very proud of his book and that he has written articles for The Guardian, BBC Online, Positive Politics and is a regular contributor to Medium, which has a global readership of sixty million people. He has also worked with Apple, Google and Texthelp on making the digital environment more inclusive for disabled people and people with Neuro-Diversity and Dyslexia. He has also been instrumental in helping to change the Social Care Law and landscape in his native Wales. His book will make you laugh, cry and get angry in equal measure, it will also educate those who have no experience of disability and show them how people with disability have more than just their disability to face day to day. Finally, Damians over-arching message is that even if you face adversity, you can still achieve and get a good education and career. He has three other books in the pipeline, two more from the “I’m Not A Spaz! I’m Safe” series called “Loving Damian” which is the story of his later life and the fight to be allowed to have personal relationships and sex, without carers or authority telling him that was not possible, it will also tell you of more shocking restrictions and systematic abuse Damian has faced from care providers and local authority. The third book will be about “The Social Services and Wellbeing act” from the perspective of someone who helped inform and lives with the legislation, he is also working on a leadership book for Non-Executive Directors in government or any organisation which has these executives. He is also receiving bookings to speak at conferences, he is nothing if not busy. If you would like a copy of this inspirational No1 bestselling book “I’m Not A Spaz, I’m Safe”, or to book Damian for a speaking or public engagement, please email damians team on damian@executivecoaching365.co.uk for a signed copy at £23.00 including postage and packing or if you would like to book him for events please the same email address.
